A compounding solar energy loop to capture more of Earth’s abundant sunlight—faster
CSP turns large desert land into efficient energy hubs. Heat is stored (molten salt), giving grid‑scale power day and night—perfect for powering solar manufacturing that expands itself.
Kardashev Context
The Kardashev scale measures usable energy: Type I harnesses most energy available on a planet (~1016–1017 W), Type II a star (~1026 W), Type III a galaxy (~1036 W). Humanity is ~0.73 today (~20 TW). A compounding CSP build‑out is one of the fastest paths toward Type I capability.
Sun continuously delivers about 173,000 terawatts (TW) of solar power to Earth. Currently we use only 0.0001% of energy falling on earth, less than 2TW out of 173,000TW. Humanity’s current total energy use is above 20 TW which is increasing rapidly.
A small desert land parcel in a region like Namibia could meet 1% of world energy demand. We could harness solar in vast desert lands, whose cost is extremely low.
Using Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology, desert land can be transformed into a highly efficient solar energy hub.
